IVF doesn't stay at the clinic.
Your medical team takes care of your treatment. But IVF comes home with you.
It's there when your friend texts "Can I tell you something?" and your stomach drops because you already know what she's about to say and so you spend ten minutes figuring out how many exclamation points will make your "I'm so happy for you!" sound convincing.
It's there when you're supposed to be paying attention on a Zoom call, but you're refreshing your patient portal under the table because the clinic said they'd get back to you "this afternoon" and somehow it's already 2:47.
It's there when your partner asks, "Are you okay?" and you don't even know how to answer because you don’t know the answer, you're tired of talking about IVF and you’re also slightly furious that they aren't talking about IVF enough.
It's there when the baby shower invitation arrives and you immediately start calculating: Where will I be in my cycle? Will I know my results by then? What if I'm pregnant? What if I'm not? Can I handle watching everyone guess the baby's due date while I'm waiting to find out if I even have an embryo?
It's there when you find a great flight deal for a weekend away, open your calendar…and start counting cycle days. What if retrieval falls that weekend? What if I need monitoring? Maybe we just shouldn't book anything yet.
It's there when someone casually asks, "So, when are you guys going to have kids?" and you somehow manage to smile and answer while thinking, If you had any idea what I've done just to try to make that happen.
It's there when you see a pregnancy announcement while scrolling Instagram, immediately close the app and then reopen it five minutes later because now you're wondering how long they'd been trying.
It's there when you catch yourself calculating someone else's timeline: Wait…they got married after us. She wasn't even trying when we started.
It's there when you're having a perfectly good Tuesday and suddenly remember: We still don't know if this is going to work. And there goes the rest of your afternoon.
It's there when you tell yourself you're "not going to Google this time" and twenty minutes later you're six Reddit threads deep comparing someone else's day-five embryo grading, beta number, symptoms, lining measurement, or lack of symptoms, to yours.
It's there when you analyze whether your breasts feel different, whether that cramp meant something, whether you should test early, whether you shouldn't test early and whether the fact that you don't feel anything means something too.
It's there at 2 a.m. when your partner is asleep beside you and your brain decides now is the perfect time to ask: How many more times can we do this? How much more money can we spend? What if this never works?
And sometimes it's there in an even quieter way:
You realize you can't remember the last decision you made without first considering IVF.
That's the part I help with.
Not your medications. Not your protocol. Not the medical decisions your RMA team is expertly guiding you through.
I help with the part that happens when you leave the clinic and still have an entire life to live.
Because IVF may be something you're going through.
It doesn't have to become everything you are.
What if IVF could be part of your life…without becoming your whole life?
Empowered IVF isn't about pretending treatment isn't hard or forcing yourself to "stay positive."
It's about becoming emotionally equipped to handle whatever comes next.
Imagine being able to:
Get the disappointing call from the clinic, let yourself be upset, and know what to do next instead of immediately spiraling into “This is never going to work” and losing the next three days to Google, Reddit, worst-case scenarios and bed rotting.
Book the weekend trip, buy the concert tickets or make plans for next month without automatically thinking, “But what if I have monitoring? What if that's retrieval week? Maybe I shouldn't plan anything.” You'll know how to make room for IVF and your life.
See the pregnancy announcement and have whatever reaction you have; sadness, jealousy, anger, happiness for them, grief for you, without adding a second layer of “I'm a terrible person for feeling this way.”
Know what to actually say to your partner when you need support. Instead of hoping they'll somehow know whether you need reassurance, distraction, solutions or just someone to say, “Of course this is hard,” you'll be able to tell them.
Walk into an ultrasound, transfer or results call without spending the entire morning bracing for something to go wrong. You'll have tools to bring yourself back to what you know right now instead of mentally living through every possible outcome.
Catch yourself three thoughts into the spiral instead of thirty. Notice when “I'm nervous about tomorrow's appointment” has turned into “I'm never going to be a mom,” and know how to interrupt it before it takes over your entire day.
Recover from the hard moments without rushing yourself through them. You can be devastated by disappointing news and know how to find your footing again without pretending you're fine or wondering how long you're "allowed" to be sad.
Show up to the meeting and actually be in the meeting. Go to dinner and actually enjoy dinner. Actually taking a break from thinking about IVF. Treatment can still matter enormously without occupying 100% of your mental space.
Recognize yourself while you're going through this. You're still a partner, friend, professional, sister, daughter, traveler, runner, reader, reality-TV watcher, pickle ball player or whatever makes you you. IVF becomes something you're navigating, not your entire identity.
The goal isn't to make IVF easy. It's to make sure you have the tools to navigate it without losing yourself to it.
You don't have to wait until you're struggling to get support.
In fact, that's the point.
The best time to learn how to navigate a trigger, interrupt a spiral or recover from disappointment isn't necessarily when you're already in the middle of one.
Empowered IVF helps you build those skills before you need them, while also giving you support when you do.
So when IVF throws something unexpected your way, you're not starting from scratch. You already have tools. You already have a plan. And you already have someone who understands exactly what you're navigating.
Emotional support isn't only for crisis. It can be preparation for whatever comes next.

12 weeks. 12 women. One expert guide through the emotional side of IVF.
Empowered IVF is not a traditional infertility support group.
It's a structured small-group coaching program built around the emotional challenges I know will show up during IVF after seven years of coaching women through them.
Each week has a specific focus, practical coaching tool and opportunity to apply what you're learning to your own life.
Waiting without putting your life on hold → Handling triggers → Stopping thought spirals → Rebuilding belief after setbacks → Boundaries without guilt → IVF + your relationship → Protecting your identity → Preparing emotionally for results
Â
You won't just hear "try to stay positive."
You'll leave with actual tools.
Inside Empowered IVF, I'll teach you the same practical coaching tools I've used with hundreds of women—including my Belief Plan for rebuilding belief after setbacks, strategies for interrupting thought spirals, the Bullseye tool for navigating triggers, and frameworks for setting boundaries without drowning in guilt.
Because when IVF gets hard, you don't need another inspirational quote. You need to know what to actually do next.
And no, you don't have to tell 11 strangers your entire IVF story.
Some weeks you'll bring something you're struggling with and want coaching.
Other weeks, someone will ask the exact question you didn't know how to put into words and their coaching will help you too.
And some weeks, you may simply listen, learn the tool and apply it privately to your own life.
All three count.
There's no requirement to share, turn your camera on or volunteer for coaching.
This isn't a program that depends on everyone generating conversation. Every week includes teaching, a specific emotional challenge and a practical tool you can use whether you say one word or twenty.
Schedule My 15-Minute Fit CallI've been the IVF patient, too.
I'm Kristin Dillensnyder, a certified coach, IVF mom, advocate and founder of Empowered Infertility.
I went through three rounds of IVF with three very different outcomes: a failed transfer, a miscarriage, and success which gave me my daughter.
I remember how easy it was for IVF to become the lens through which I saw everything, and the filter through which I made almost every decision.
And for nearly seven years, I've turned that lived experience into professional coaching work, helping hundreds of women and couples navigate the emotional realities of fertility treatment.
Your physician is the expert in your IVF treatment. I'm the expert in helping you navigate the life happening around it.

K.K. (IVF Coaching Client)
Kristin was the life vest I needed when I was drowning in IVF. Take the life vest if you’re doing IVF.
C.C. (IVF Coaching Client)
Kristin helped me get through what was hands down the most difficult six months of my life. She got me out of my wallowing, helped me take command of my thoughts, and reminded me that I could and would get through it. When it felt like all control over my happiness was being taken away, she helped me feel empowered again, and even more, confident that I’d be a better version of myself because of this.
S.S. (IVF Coaching Client)
There’s probably never been a better gift I’ve given my family than the gift I gave myself in coaching.
I couldn’t have been as good of a mom this past year without you.
